Common questions.
Why is Pro priced on request when Starter has a list price?
Starter is a fixed envelope — capped seats, modest database, shared compute — so a single sticker price works. Pro pricing varies with operation size and onboarding effort. Once we exit private beta later in 2026 we expect to publish Pro list bands too.
What's the contract term?
Monthly rolling on both tiers. Annual prepay gets a discount.
Is there a setup fee?
No setup fee on Starter or Pro for beta participants. Enterprise onboarding (migrations, integrations, training) is scoped per-project.
Do you offer a free trial?
Yes — we provision a sandbox tenant after a short discovery call. It lives on your own subdomain with realistic test data for two weeks. If it's a fit, we migrate to a paid tenant in place; if not, no commitment.
What happens if we outgrow Starter?
Caps lift, your data stays in place. Each tenant runs on its own isolated database, so moving from Starter to Pro is a single config change on our side — no data migration, no project recreation, no connection-string changes. The only user-visible blip is a brief compute restart (typically under 30 seconds) when the new storage and seat limits take effect. We schedule it outside your operating hours.
What does 'shared compute · cold-start tolerated' mean for Starter?
The backend on Starter scales to zero when idle and warms up on the first request — typical wake-up is under 2 seconds. Pro runs an always-on instance so every call hits a hot path. If your operators sign in to the iOS app first thing each morning, both work fine; if you have customer-facing dashboards or webhooks that need sub-second response, Pro is the right call.
How do staff seats work?
The staff cap is a shared pool — admins and operators count against the same number. On Starter, that's 5 total (mix as you like: 2 admins + 3 operators, 1 admin + 4 operators, etc.). On Pro it's 30. We strongly recommend keeping at least 2 admins on every tenant so you can't get locked out if one loses access — the dashboard nudges you with a banner if your admin count drops below 2. Client portal users are a separate pool (50 on Starter, unlimited on Pro).
How does the DEFRA add-on work on Starter?
Click 'Enable for £10/month' in Settings → Integrations. The integration activates immediately; we invoice the add-on alongside your Starter subscription. Pro tenants get DEFRA included at no extra cost.
What about AI report summaries?
Each tier ships with a monthly quota of AI-generated ESG executive summaries (3 on Starter, 10 on Pro). Once the quota is used, the AI section is hidden until next month — your reports still generate, just without the AI-written narrative. Need more? Email support and we'll add £1/report credits to your wallet (self-serve checkout for top-ups is on the roadmap for later in 2026).
Which limits are hard caps vs fair-use?
Seat counts and AI summary quotas are hard caps — the platform refuses to exceed them. Database size on Starter is hard-capped at 500MB (we'll alert you well before you hit it). Database on Pro includes 10GB; beyond that we bill the cost-of-goods overage at provider rates. Document/photo storage is fair-use — we monitor it and reach out at 80% to discuss whether to upgrade or trim. No silent overage shocks.
